The Delta State Police Command has announced the arrest of 15 suspected cultists and armed robbery suspects in separate operations, as part of an intensified crackdown on criminal activities across the state.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the command disclosed that operatives carried out a coordinated raid on a criminal hideout in Oko Community on April 27, 2026.
According to the police, the operation executed by personnel of Safe Delta, Operation Delta Sweep, and Operation Delta Shield, targeted a notorious black spot identified as Best Lodge.
The raid led to the arrest of 14 suspects, including 13 males and one female.
Items recovered during the operation, include a locally made cut-to-size pistol, three live cartridges, two bags of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, four daggers, a cutlass, multiple mobile phones, and a cash sum of ₦133,100.
The police said investigations into the case are ongoing.

In a related development on the same day, operatives of Operation Delta Shield reportedly intercepted a 26-year-old suspect, identified as Chidebere Irunkwor, during a stop-and-search operation along Kingsley Street.
A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of another locally made cut-to-size pistol, two live cartridges, and 10 Euros.
Preliminary findings, according to the police, indicate that the suspect is a member of the Eiye Confraternity. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
The commissioner of police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustained operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks in the state, stressing that intelligence-driven policing would remain central to its strategy.
The police also urged residents to support ongoing efforts by providing timely and credible information, assuring that all tips would be handled with strict confidentiality.
