The Adamawa State government has renewed its commitment to partner with the army to address insurgency and strengthen security across the state.
Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, stated this on Thursday during a meeting with the Theatre Commander of ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, who paid her a courtesy visit in Yola.
Farauta said the state government remains determined to safeguard lives and property, especially in light of recent attacks by insurgents in some communities.
She appreciated the military for its continued support and solidarity with the people of the state during the challenging period.
She assured that the government would sustain its collaboration with security agencies, adding that investments in human capital development and information and communication technology would be prioritized to improve the overall security framework.
The deputy governor also reiterated that the state remains safe, noting that the government would take all necessary measures to maintain peace and stability.

In his remarks, Major General Abubakar said his visit was aimed at conducting an operational appraisal to strengthen security architecture in the state.
He explained that the exercise would focus on enhancing response time and establishing effective early warning systems.
The theatre commander also delivered a message of condolence from the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, to the government and people of Adamawa State over the recent killing of innocent citizens.
He described the incidents as a serious concern, stressing that the military was committed to reviewing its operations to better address emerging security threats.
The visit highlights ongoing efforts by both the state government and the military to curb insurgency and ensure lasting peace in Adamawa State.
