The Founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has sparked widespread reactions after asserting that he spiritually halted a planned concert by American rapper 50 Cent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

In a resurfaced video circulating online, the cleric narrated that the music star had been scheduled to perform in the Rivers State capital on the same day his church was holding a major crusade.

According to him, he prayed against the concert, insisting that its success would contradict his divine mandate.

He further claimed that although the rapper arrived in Lagos ahead of the event, unforeseen complications forced him to abandon the trip and return to the United States an outcome he attributed to spiritual intervention.

The statement has generated mixed responses across social and religious circles.

Critics have challenged the claim, citing previously reported logistical and organizational issues linked to the cancelled appearance.

Supporters, however, view the account as a demonstration of spiritual authority.

Observers note that the controversy reflects a broader trend within Nigeria’s religious space, where faith-based interpretations of events often intersect with practical realities, influencing public perception and national conversations.
