The youth wing of the Isoko Development Union Worldwide has reiterated its support for the second-term bid of Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, aligning its position with that of the parent body, the Isoko Development Union (IDU).

In a statement released by its office of media and orientation, the youth body, led by Joel Emeni, said the endorsement underscores a shared resolve within the Isoko socio-cultural structure and reflects confidence in the current representation.

The statement, signed by Augustine Oghenetejiri, special assistant on media and orientation to the IDU youth wing, emphasized that continuity in leadership would better position the Isoko nation to sustain and expand ongoing legislative and developmental strides.

According to the group, its decision followed careful deliberation, with members concluding that a second term would provide the stability required to consolidate existing gains and advance new initiatives for the benefit of the people.

Addressing internal concerns, the youth wing disclosed that its second Vice President, Sunday Unuafe, has withdrawn earlier comments that ran contrary to the group’s stance and has tendered an apology.

It noted that the move has helped to restore unity and reinforce cohesion within the organisation.

The youth wing also appealed to key political figures, including Jay Ogor and Malik Ikpokpo, to adopt a cooperative approach in the broader interest of Isoko development.

It urged them and their supporters to rally behind Sen. Joel-Onowakpo’s re-election, stressing that a single term is often inadequate for lawmakers to fully execute their legislative programmes.

The group maintained that collaboration and constructive engagement among stakeholders would yield more meaningful outcomes than political divisions, adding that unity remains critical to achieving sustainable progress in the area.

It further called on all Isoko indigenes to close ranks and pursue a common vision aimed at fostering growth and effective representation for the region.
