The founder of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko, has called on Christians to embrace positive speech as a tool for personal growth and national development, warning against negative utterances that can harm individuals and the country’s image.

Speaking during the church’s monthly interactive service at Headstone Tabernacle in Uyo, Apostle Okoriko, represented by the Secretary General, Linus Uko Enang, emphasized the theme: “What You Say, You Become.”

He noted that words carry spiritual power and can shape outcomes, whether spoken about oneself, family, community, or the nation.

Drawing from Genesis 1:2–3, he explained that God created the world through spoken words, underscoring the importance of positive declarations.

He urged Nigerians not to lose faith amid economic and political challenges but to encourage leaders with constructive and hopeful expressions.

Referencing the significance of Easter, Okoriko stated that the celebration of Christ’s resurrection is rooted in Jesus’ own positive declaration that he would rise again despite suffering and crucifixion.

He cautioned against negative speech, stressing that words are powerful and consequential. According to him, many broken marriages, strained relationships, and community conflicts can be traced to harmful utterances.

He further warned that negative comments about Nigeria could damage the country’s global reputation and bring misfortune to its citizens.

Okoriko advised Nigerians to be mindful of their speech, noting that words reflect thoughts and can determine outcomes.

While encouraging constructive criticism of leadership, he stressed the need to avoid destructive language.

He also addressed young people, urging them not to be limited by economic hardship, social pressures, or political realities. Instead, he encouraged them to use positive words and actions to uplift themselves and contribute meaningfully to national development.
