The Rivers State government led by Governor Siminalayi Fubara is set to recruit teachers into its public primary and secondary schools.
A statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu who doubles as the chairman of the teachers recruitment committee urged qualified individuals with passion for classroom teaching to apply
The statement said that the exercise is geared towards strengthening the basic and secondary education sectors by engaging professionals committed to quality teaching and fostering academic excellence.
It said the opportunity is available to only those who posses the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) as the minimum qualification for primary school teachers, while those for secondary level are required to hold a minimum of bachelor’s degree in education or bachelor’s degree in any teaching subject and a postgraduate diploma in education.

The applicants are also expected to hold a valid Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) certificate in addition to having a National Youth Services Corps, (NYSC) discharge certificate, among other qualifications.
The applicants are required to send their entries through a designated portal from April 2 to 13 2026.
The statement stressed that the application is free and strictly based on merit.
