The Ondo State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Etikan Ward, Ilaje Local Government Area, has announced the suspension of its 13 members for their alleged involvement in anti-party activities and indiscipline acts.
In a communiqué signed by 10 PDP leaders in the local government which includes: Johnson Ajimajasan, Adeniran Oronla, Okuntade George and Akingboye Are, after a meeting held on Sunday and was obtained by The Trumpet, also alleged the suspended members of inability to register as bonafide members during the party registration exercise.
The party leader at the meeting said that the actions of the suspended members who defected from the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, were against the party’s constitution The Trumpet gathered.
“The constitution of the PDP stated that all members of the party must register with the party at their various wards but suspended former ZLP defectors only announced their defection at a hotel,” said the party leader.

“In as much as the party welcomes constructive criticisms, contestations and engagements, we would not condone any form of political indiscipline, rascality and ostentatious display of insubordination.
“The action of these (sanctioned) members directly contravenes section 58(1) F, items F. H; I and J of the party’s constitution. Consequently, these persons are hereby suspended with immediate effect for anti-party activities and insubordination to constituted authority.”
Reacting, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr Kennedy Peretei said the matter has not been officially reported to the state level, saying it is at the local government and ward level, revealing that the issue might be resolved at that level.
