The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the renewed communal conflict in Lamurde Local Government Area, that reportedly resulted in the killing of three women.

Police said the incident occurred on Friday, January 3, 2026, when the victims were allegedly attacked and killed while working on their farm near Tigno Village.

The attack is believed to be linked to the long-standing conflict between the Bachama and Chobo communities, which has previously led to the loss of lives and destruction of property in the area.

Confirming the arrests, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspects—William Joshua, and Ezekiel Luka, both residents of Tigno Village, were apprehended following credible intelligence.

He added that preliminary investigations led to the recovery of 29 rounds of live ammunition, one magazine of an AK-47 rifle, ₦90,000 in cash, and other items suspected to be connected to the crime.

The state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, appealed to residents to remain calm, assuring them of the command’s resolve to bring all those responsible for the violence to justice.

“The suspects are currently in custody and are cooperating with investigators as efforts continue to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the police said.

Authorities noted that further details would be made public as investigations progress.
