The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta State chapter and the senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko have commiserated with the family of late Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, the government and people of the state over the passing of the former lawmaker.
In a statement issued by Tidi Michael, secretary, Delta State PDP Caretaker Committee the party expressed deep sadness over the demise of Nwaoboshi
The party noted that, though, death was inevitable, the legacies of men who served with courage, dedication, and conviction endures.
The party described Nwaoboshi as a principled leader, a true party man, and an administrator par excellence.
The statement further described the late lawmaker as a devoted public servant, who began his career in 1979 as an aide to the then Military Governor of Bendel State, Brigadier-General Samuel Ogbemudia, later earning his LL.B and LL.M degrees.
The party recalled that the late former legislator served as political adviser to Governor James Ibori, commissioner for agriculture and special duties.
It further said that Nwaoboshi was a one-time
Chairman of the Nigerian Railway Corporation and chairman, PDP Delta State chapter where he instituted various reforms, built the party secretariat, and restored discipline.
According to the statement, Nwaoboshi
was elected senator for Delta North Senatorial District between 2015–2023, and served prominently in various committees including the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs.
It noted that the contributions of the late Nwaoboshi to Delta State and Nigeria’s political landscape remained indelible.
“We received with profound sadness the news of the passing of distinguished Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of Ibusa Community, Oshimili North LGA, on Friday, 19th December, 2025.
“Our condolences go to the Nwaoboshi family, the constituents of Delta North Senatorial District, and the government and people of Delta State.
“On behalf of the PDP Delta family, we pray that God grants his family strength, rewards his virtues, and grants his soul eternal rest.
“Good night, Oracle, may your resourceful soul rest in perfect peace. Amen,” the statement read.
In a related development, Sen. Ned Nwoko representing Delta North has also expressed sadness over the passing of Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi.
In his condolence message, Sen. Nwoko described the late Nwaoboshi as a consummate party administrator.
He also described the late former lawmaker who was his immediate predecessor as a long standing political figure and dedicated community leader.
He said that Nwaoboshi would be remembered for his notable contributions to the political development of Delta and Anioma land, dating back to the 1990s.

“It is with a profound sense of loss and grief that I received the sad news of the passing of Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi.
“He no doubt contributed immensely to the social and political evolution of Delta as a state, Delta North as well as the Nation, having held key positions as party Chairman, Civil Commissioner and Senator among other offices.
“On behalf of myself, family and political associates, I extend my deep commiseration to the family on this difficult moment of the loss of their patriarch.
“May the Almighty grant the entire family and indeed the people of Oshimili, Anioma and Delta at large the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss” Nwoko said.
News of the demise of the former lawmaker filtered in late Friday afternoon.
Sen. Nwaoboshi, who hailed from Isieke, Umuekea Quarters in Ibusa, served as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023.
