The North East Zonal Director of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW), Major General Abubakar Adamu (rtd), has commended the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army/Sector 3 ‘Operation Whirl Stroke’ (OPWS) for its notable strides in improving security across Taraba State.
The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the brigade headquarters in Jalingo, which formed part of a wider sensitization tour aimed at strengthening regional efforts to curb the proliferation of small arms and light weapons.
Adamu expressed satisfaction with the brigade’s use of both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches in tackling insecurity and highlighted the crucial role of the military in stabilizing conflict-affected areas.
He reaffirmed the NCCSALW’s commitment to collaborating with military and security agencies through intelligence sharing, awareness campaigns, and grassroots engagement.
