The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her partner, with whom she had two children, to death during a domestic dispute in Jakpa, Uvwie local government area of the state.
The suspect, identified as Bina, hails from Bayelsa State and had been cohabiting with the deceased for about four years, was said to have used a knife to kill the victim.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday via a video on his Facebook handle, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, described it as a disturbing case of domestic violence that turned fatal.

Recounting what happened, Bina told police investigators: “On Monday, we were not talking to each other. He got angry because I went to meet our neighbour to help me load a recharge card since he wasn’t responding to me.”
She added: “He told me I should never go to our neighbour for anything. He then threatened to lock up the shop he opened for me. From there, the quarrel became serious and I used the knife to stab him.”
The victim was rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead after losing a large amaount of blood.
SP Edafe described the incident as unfortunate and advised young people, especially women, to walk away from abusive or toxic relationships rather than resort to violence.
He said the suspect is in custody while investigation continues, after which she will be charged to court.
