The Delta State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Solomon Arenyeka, has inaugurated two political support groups in Okpe Local Government Area to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ahead of the 2027 elections.
The groups, Concern Otirhue Movement for Sheriff and Tinubu and Otirhue Progressive Movement for Sheriff and Tinubu, were inaugurated at a ceremony in Mereje, Okpe LGA.

The groups were founded by the Chairman of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Pastor Joseph Otirhue.
Speaking at the event, Otirhue said the groups were established to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and secure victory for Tinubu, Oborevwori and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
He said the groups would mobilise support for APC candidates contesting seats in the Delta State House of Assembly, National Assembly and other elective positions.
Otirhue urged members of the groups to remain committed to the party and intensify their engagement with residents at the grassroots.
Arenyeka Tasks Groups on 2027 Elections
Inaugurating the groups, Arenyeka charged members to work assiduously for the success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
He urged them to embrace the party’s “five-over-five” objective of delivering victory for all APC candidates in the elections.
The Delta APC chairman also tasked members with taking the party’s message to residents and ensuring that the structures of the two groups remained active across communities in Okpe Local Government Area.
Other party leaders who spoke at the ceremony urged members to remain united and committed to grassroots mobilisation.
They said sustained engagement with voters would be critical to the party’s performance in the 2027 elections.
Otirhue Empowers More Than 250 Beneficiaries
The event also featured the empowerment of more than 250 beneficiaries by Otirhue.
He described the initiative as the fifth phase of his empowerment programme, which he said was designed to provide support to party members and other beneficiaries.
Otirhue assured people who were not included in the latest phase that they would be considered in subsequent phases of the programme.

Dignitaries Attend Inauguration
Among the dignitaries at the event were former Minister of Culture and Information, Okakuro Prof. Sam Oyovbaire; Chief Robert Onome; member representing Okpe State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Okakuro James Augoye; and Chairman of Okpe Local Government Council, Okakuro Hon. Isaiah Esiovwa.
Others included former Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha; Mr Austin Ayemidejor; APC State Secretary, Okakuro Efe Uko; Chairman of the Delta State Civil Service Commission, Chief Mrs Rose Amioku; APC State Organising Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor; and other party leaders and stakeholders.
The inauguration further strengthened the APC’s grassroots mobilisation efforts in Okpe, with members of the two groups pledging to expand their structures and mobilise support for Tinubu, Oborevwori and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
