In a heartwarming gesture to mark her 74th birthday, Deaconess Mrs. Cecilia Odogbor, mother of the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Mass Mobilization, Pastor Dr. Vincent Udume Odogbor, has awarded scholarships to 16 indigent pupils in Delta State. This noble act aims to empower the next generation through education.
Out of the 16 beneficiaries, Mrs. Odogbor personally sponsored 11 pupils, while her son, Dr. Vincent Odogbor, extended his support to 5 more, covering students from Uvwie, Warri South, and Isoko South Local Government Areas.
During a family gathering on Sunday in Warri, Pastor Vincent Odogbor emphasized the significance of education and how it plays a crucial role in shaping the future of young Deltans. He remarked, “Mama believes education is the key to a bright future. By supporting these young pupils, we are helping create a pathway to success and contributing to the Governor’s MORE Agenda, which aims to add more value to the lives of Deltans.”
Fondly called “Mamo” by loved ones, Deaconess Odogbor has always been dedicated to making others happy, and her latest act of kindness reflects that passion. Pastor Odogbor shared, “Mamo is sponsoring 11 pupils, and I’m supporting her with 5 more. This initiative is a way to give back and ensure that more pupils can access quality education, which would certainly bring joy to Mamo.”
The celebratory event also provided an opportunity for Pastor Odogbor and his family to reflect on their mother’s life achievements. “On behalf of my family and siblings, we congratulate our dear mum on reaching 74 years of great accomplishments,” he added.
