Borno State Governor and Chairman of the North East Governors’ Forum, Babagana Zulum, is hosting the five other governors of the region for the 13th regular meeting of the forum in Maiduguri.
The meeting, which commenced on Friday, October 2, 2026, is being held at the Government House, Maiduguri, and is scheduled to end on Saturday, October 3.
The visiting governors are Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Muhammadu Yahaya of Gombe, Agbu Kefas of Taraba and Mai Buni of Yobe.
Welcoming the governors and other distinguished guests, Zulum said the meeting provided an opportunity for the region’s leaders to deliberate on issues affecting the North East.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Borno State, I warmly welcome my brother governors of the region and our distinguished guests to Maiduguri for the 13th regular meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum,” he said.
The governors are expected to discuss issues relating to good governance, peaceful coexistence, security and the socioeconomic development of the North East.
The meeting is also expected to strengthen regional cooperation and facilitate joint policy actions aimed at addressing common challenges confronting the six states.
The North East Governors’ Forum serves as a platform for regional cooperation, coordinated policy action and development among Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States.
