Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has given approval for the disbursement of N55,968,000 to cover registration fees for 153 Borno State natives enrolled at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, in Gombe state.
The announcement was made during a press conference convened at the Scholarship Board’s office, where the Executive Secretary Mallam Bala Isa disclosed Governor Zulum’s steadfast dedication to advancing education in the region.
Baba Isa highlighted the alignment of the initiative with Borno State’s 25-year development plan and the governor’s ten-year transformation agenda.
“In line with the Borno State 25-year development plan and ten-year transformation initiatives, the Borno State Scholarship Board wishes to announce to the good people of Borno State that His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the release of N55,968,000 for the payment of registration fees for 153 Borno State indigenes of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare,” he declared.
The allocated funds are earmarked for students pursuing diverse disciplines, including Dentistry, MBBS, Radiography, Nutrition and Dietary, Opticianry, IT and Health Informatics, Environmental Health, Physiotherapy, and Epidemiology and Statistics.

Governor Zulum emphasized the importance of recipients demonstrating dedication to their studies, urging them to be industrious in order to validate the government’s investment.
This counsel was echoed by the honorable commissioner of education, science, technology, and innovation, Engineer Lawan Abba Wakilbe, who encouraged the beneficiaries to focus on their studies.
The Executive Secretary expressed gratitude on behalf of the Borno State Scholarship Board, acknowledging Governor Zulum’s unwavering commitment to the education of Borno State residents and his continuous support for the board.
