Badamuda Proactive Youths, a community-based organization in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area (LGA) of Taraba State, have strongly condemned a wave of violent attacks allegedly carried out by armed herders in several communities, including Bandawa, Munga Dosso, and Ngurore-Jabu Munga.
In a press statement issued in Jalingo by Chairman Suleiman Joel Munga and Secretary Ishaya Peter Bandawa, the group described the incidents as “brutal assaults” that have left at least 15 people dead and more than 20 others seriously injured.
The attacks, as further made known by them, have also resulted in the destruction of properties and farmlands worth millions of Naira, the group said.
According to the statement, the violence has caused mass displacement, with hundreds of residents forced to flee their homes in search of safety. The youths warned that the loss of farmland central to the local economy, has put many families at risk of hunger and economic collapse.
The group called on Governor Agbu Kefas to establish a high-powered investigative committee to identify the root causes of the violence.

They emphasized that the committee should include representatives from affected communities, security agencies, civil society groups, and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and justice.
“We urge His Excellency to visit the affected communities to assess the damage firsthand, show solidarity with the victims, and reassure citizens of the government’s commitment to their safety,” the statement read.
The youth group also appealed to security agencies to intensify their efforts to arrest those behind the attacks and to deploy additional personnel to protect vulnerable communities from further violence.
In addition to seeking justice, the group urged the government to provide immediate relief materials including food, medical supplies, and temporary shelters to support displaced persons. They also called for financial compensation and reconstruction efforts to help communities rebuild.
“Peace cannot thrive where justice is denied,” the statement concluded, stressing the importance of accountability and long-term peacebuilding efforts across Karim-Lamido and Taraba State.
