Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for Abia State, Doris Ogala, has stirred reactions online after declaring that Abia residents would “have no choice” but to accept her as their next governor in the 2027 election.
Ogala made the statement during a TikTok Live session, expressing confidence that she would emerge victorious in the forthcoming governorship poll.
Addressing viewers during the livestream, the actress insisted that her governorship ambition was divinely ordained.
“I, Doris Ogala, as your governor, you don’t have a choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have a choice. God has said it, so shall it be. It is very simple. Why don’t you get that?” she said.
The video quickly gained traction on social media, triggering mixed reactions from users, with some praising her confidence while others criticised the tone of her remarks.
Ogala recently emerged as the AAC’s governorship candidate in Abia State, vowing to unseat incumbent Governor Alex Otti.

Before joining partisan politics, Ogala built a career in Nollywood and later became active in political advocacy through the AAC, participating in campaigns and protests on issues affecting Abia State.
In June 2026, she was hospitalized after collapsing during a political consultation in Umuahia.
She was treated at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, where she later interacted with fellow patients from a wheelchair and prayed with them, an incident that also generated widespread discussion on social media.
