Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi from French club Reims in a dramatic deadline-day move. The 28-year-old midfielder joins Wolves on a permanent deal, signing a contract that will keep him at Molineux until 2028.

Munetsi, who began his professional career in South Africa with Ubuntu Cape Town, Baroka, and Orlando Pirates, has developed into a dynamic and versatile midfielder. His arrival is expected to bolster Wolves’ squad depth as they push for a strong finish in the Premier League.

Club chairman Jeff Shi expressed excitement over the deal, revealing that Wolves’ staff traveled to France to ensure the transfer was completed before the window closed. He emphasized Munetsi’s experience and the value he brings to the squad at a crucial stage of the season. Sporting director Matt Hobbs highlighted the importance of adding depth to the squad, noting that Munetsi’s physicality and adaptability make him well-suited for the Premier League.

Munetsi will reunite with former teammate Boubacar Traoré, who has settled quickly at the club, providing him with a familiar presence in the dressing room. With Wolves aiming to strengthen their midfield options, the Zimbabwean star’s arrival is seen as a significant boost to manager Vítor Pereira’s plans for the remainder of the campaign.
