The Nigerian Army has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families by sponsoring the education of children whose parents lost their lives in active service. Through this initiative, the Army will provide financial support for primary, secondary, and tertiary education, ensuring that children of deceased soldiers have access to quality learning opportunities in the 2024/2025 academic session.
To facilitate this, a nationwide screening and verification exercise will be conducted across all six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The exercise is scheduled to take place from February 8 to March 17, 2025. The screening will not only accommodate new applicants but also cater to existing beneficiaries seeking an upgrade in their sponsorship, as well as those who missed the previous screening process.
The program is in line with the Nigerian Army’s dedication to honoring the sacrifices of fallen soldiers by ensuring their children receive the education and support they need for a brighter future. Families of deceased personnel are encouraged to participate in the exercise and take advantage of this opportunity.

During the screening, applicants must present key documents, including a handwritten application specifying the names of the children, an admission letter from their respective educational institutions, and their most recent academic results. These documents will help verify eligibility and streamline the sponsorship process.
With designated screening centers in Port Harcourt, Enugu, Ibadan, Bauchi, Kaduna, and Abuja, the Army has ensured accessibility for families across the country. This initiative highlights the military’s ongoing efforts to provide social support and stability for those left behind by their heroes.
Through this sponsorship program, the Nigerian Army continues to honor the legacy of its fallen personnel, reinforcing its promise to stand by their families. Families are encouraged to seize this opportunity to secure a stable educational future for their children.
