• Appeals to Deltans to vote APC
• Warri we met, better than today’s – Omo-Agege
Delta South Senatorial Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas said with Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as Governor of Delta State while on seat as Senator of Delta South, Warri port, Koko port and Bururtu port will function optimally to the benefit of Deltans and Nigerians.
Joel-Onowakpo said with the three ports in existence to serve the purpose as one of the nerve centres of the country and state revenue-generating organs, the level of development within Warri and Delta will be humongous.
The financial expert with a robust, enviable record and outstanding experience in public and private sectors, noted that Delta South which comprises these three ports is yet to reap the benefits due to certain challenges bedevilling these critical infrastructures in his district.
According to him, getting these ports back on track despite the work being done to dredge the Warri port pathways, “the synergy between the super trio of Tinubu, Omo-Agege and Joel-Onowakpo, will not only fast-track the process but ensure all essentials to achieve standard ports, that world’s biggest vessels can berth, is utilized”.

Joel-Onowakpo lamented that Delta South is too endowed to be where it is today and if we are to rival other districts regarding the development of critical infrastructures and human capital, one of the areas must be getting these ports back on track.
The Delta South APC senatorial candidate applauded Delta APC gubernatorial candidate, Omo-Agege, for asserting his position in this regard during the latter’s visit Wednesday to the Olu Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, Tsola Emiko, where he stressed that “with Bola Tinubu as president and me as governor, we will bring back Warri Port, Koko Port and Burutu Port”.
Joel-Onowakpo, who created a scintillating record in the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) that complimented the performance of the previous administration, Dr Ewetan Emmanuel Uduaghan’s, in areas of infrastructure, human capital development, health, etcetera, appealed to Deltans to commit themselves to the APC’s project and ensure competence is chosen over mediocrity.
He added that the APC has achieved a lot for Delta Central following the unrivalled performance of Omo-Agege and should leverage it as a yardstick to enumerate what Delta state stands to benefit when the trio of Tinubu, Deputy President of the Senate and Joel-Onowakpo, are voted into power in 2023.
Meanwhile, Deputy President of the Senate and Delta gubernatorial candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has taken a swipe at Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) noting that the development in Delta can not commensurate with what it has received.
Omo-Agege, during his visit to the Olu of Warri, lamented that despite the huge funds Delta state received, including the 13% derivation, oil-bearing communities have suffered total neglect and assured that when he becomes governor, he will ensure the funds are properly channelled to ameliorate their plight.
According to the APC governorship candidate, who is abreast with the challenges overwhelming the state, having served in various capacities to garner qualitative experience, decried that “The development on ground in our dear state is not commensurate with what we have received.
“I will restore the lost glory of Warri Kingdom. The Warri we met, the Warri we grew up in, is far better than what we have now.”
The distinguished senator, however, assured the paramount ruler of the Itsekiris that his government will create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
