Delta State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC and Ijaw Youth Mass Mobilization Movement for Bola Tinubu, South South, have backed the party’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
Speaking exclusively to The Trumpet, the coordinator of the Ijaw group, Hon. Duduke Ebitemi disclosed that it has already drawn a plan and programme that will ensure victory for the party in the 2023 general elections in the South South region.
He observed that there was nothing wrong for the APC presidential candidate to choose who he believed can help his chances of winning the 2023 election irrespective of tribe and religion. He stressed that the criticism that has greeted the Muslim-Muslim ticket was a misplaced outcry.
He said: “what we should be concerned about in Nigeria is somebody with a track record and capacity to salvage this nation in all fronts, economically, politically, security and others. We know what is happening and why there is an outcry, but we believe Tinubu because he is neither a religious bigot nor a tribalist.
“However, people need to understand this, and that is why our group has drawn a plan to sensitize and mobilize the people of the South South region especially those in the creeks, to drive this message and make them understand that there is nothing to fear in the joint Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.”

Speaking on behalf of the Delta Chapter of the APC, its immediate past State Chairman, Mr. Jones Erue, said APC it is strongly backing the ticket to a resounding electoral victory in 2023.
He remarked: “Delta APC is working assiduously in tandem with relevant stakeholders nationwide to deliver the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket.
“The truth must be said that Delta State APC is highly committed to deliver the Tinubu/Shettima ticket in the State in the next presidential, election.
“The party is presently mobolizing not just members, but Deltans in general to vote massively for the presidential candidate of our great Party.
“I am of the very firm view that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket is highly capable of moving the country to the next level of economic growth that is desperately needed right now.
“It is urgently necessary for us to disabuse the minds of our people in the Niger Delta states that the Tinubu/Shettima ticket is a jihadist agenda against the existential survival of christians in Nigeria, particularly in the south-south.”
He added that what was behind the emergence of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket was competence, service delivery and not religious pontifications.
