US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has established “total control” over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, insisting that Iran lacks the military capacity to challenge American forces in the waterway.

Trump made the claim in a Wednesday post on his social media platform, describing the US naval blockade around the strategic passage as a “wall of steel” and declaring that Washington intends to maintain its position.

“The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz,” Trump wrote.

He alleged that Iran’s military had been severely weakened, claiming that the country had no effective navy or air force and that some of its remaining soldiers were unpaid.

Trump also claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had been “decimated” and was fleeing, while portraying Iran’s leadership as uncertain.

Turning to Iran’s economy, the US president claimed that the country was facing severe financial difficulties and referred to what he described as “300% inflation.”

He further dismissed Iran as “all talk and no action,” declaring that the country was no longer the dominant regional power.

“The Bully of the Middle East No Longer,” Trump wrote.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important maritime corridors, linking the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. A significant share of global energy shipments passes through the waterway, making any disruption a major concern for international markets and energy security.

Trump’s latest statement comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran, with the strategic waterway remaining a major flashpoint in the confrontation.

His claim of “total control” marks a sharp escalation in US rhetoric over the Strait and could further heighten concerns about the security of commercial shipping and global energy supplies.

Trump concluded the post with the words, “Praise be to Allah!” before signing it as “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
