The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the official timetable for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates.
According to the final international timetable published on the council’s official X handle on Monday, the examination is scheduled to begin on April 21, 2026, and conclude on June 19, 2026.
The council stated that the examination will commence with practical planning sessions for foods and nutrition 3 as well as home management 3.


WASSCE remains a key qualification for secondary school students seeking admission into universities and other tertiary institutions across West Africa.

The examination covers core subjects such as English Language and mathematics, alongside a broad range of electives spanning the sciences, arts, humanities, and vocational or technical fields.


It is conducted across WAEC member countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia.
