Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uzere Ward 4 Chapter, in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, has reconciled aggrieved members back to the party and received decampees from other political parties.

The event took place yesterday, Sunday, 10/3/2024 at the Uzere residence of the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, Chief Barr. Afor Irogbo. The meeting also showcased the celebration of Mother’s Day with PDP women in the Ward.

Speaking during the meeting, Chief Irogbo who co-hosted the meeting with Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilization, Hon. Mrs Felicia Ojobo, lauded party leaders like General Alexander Ogomudia, Prince Sam Ogrih, Engr Goodluck Idele, Chief Iduh Amadhe, Sir Dr. Prosper Irogbo, Elder Daniel Olokor and others for always standing firm for the party in Uzere and beyond.

He said the meeting which had the blessings of leaders of the Ward was the first since after the general elections that were held last year.

“We called this meeting to felicitate with you all because, since the general elections, we have not met again.”

Chief Irogbo further appreciated General Alexander Ogomudia for his appointment and that of Hon. Mrs Felicia Ojobo, saying, “We have come here to tell you people that we have been given appointments by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori simply because we won elections.

“If we had not won the election, it wouldn’t have been possible for us to be given appointments. Uzere has been known to be a strong base of the PDP even though a lot of things went wrong within the party.

“The stress we faced in the last general elections was caused by our PDP members who worked at cross-purposes, but I can assure you today that going forward, nobody will be neglected or looked down upon again because every vote counts”.

Irogbo added that the decampees will be formally welcomed to the party at a later date in an enlarged meeting of the party.

In her remark, Hon. Mrs Felicia Ojobo, thanked the women for their support for the party over the years assuring that they will be treated equally and called on the men and youths of the party to support the women always.

Also speaking, former Chairman Isoko South PDP, Mr Ralph Odorewu thanked the two leaders for organising the meeting and called for more strategic conversion of the opposition to enhance the fortunes of the party in the Ward.

He said many of those in the opposition were former PDP members who left the party in anger due to some misgivings in the past.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, former Vice Chairman Uzere PDP, Mr Dennis Agbaka, Samuel Ikre and Mrs Queen Uwhere said they were returning to the party because they perceived that normalcy is returning to the party.

They remarked that they were hounded out of the party by oppressive forces within the Ward and vowed to work hard with others to ensure the party wins in subsequent elections.

The high point of the meeting was the celebration of Mothering Sunday with PDP women in Uzere Ward 04.

Others who attended the meeting are Sir Dr Prosper Irogbo, Mr College Owefie Mr David Aladha, Engr. Fidelis Ojobo, Mr Irogbo Ajiroghene, Mr Kingsley Igbi, Mr Patrick Abrudhakpo (Personal Assistant to Chief Iduh Amadhe) Mrs. Abigail Agbaka, Mr. Ozoekefe Umuko, Comrade Bright Evroro, Mr. Emamuzou Odenu, Mr Ajiri Ukiri among others.
