The Force Intelligence Department (FID) of the Nigeria Police has invited several community leaders from Uzere, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, for questioning over an alleged petition said to have been written by the traditional ruler, HRH Isaac Udogri and Chief Askia Ogieh.
In a letter dated October 27, 2025, and signed by CP James I. Nwokolo on behalf of the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Force Intelligence Department), the invitation linked the Uzere leaders to allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism, armed robbery, assault, unlawful possession of firearms, malicious damage, criminal intimidation, and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
The police document obtained by The Trumpet Newspaper, was addressed to Mr. Rapheal Odorewu, listed over twenty names, including traditional and youth figures in the community. Those summoned include Iduh Amadhe, Agbaka Edefemoka Salvation, Solomon Ogueri, Oluku Akpotu Endurance, Uzuofah Mario, Peter America, and Fredrick Uyeh, among others.
According to the letter, the invitation was made “in observance of the principle of fair hearing” and required the individuals to appear for an interview with the Commissioner of Police (Admin), at the Force Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, November 3, 2025.
The summons follows ongoing tension in Uzere over communal leadership disputes and allegations of interference in local governance. Sources familiar with the matter said the petition, believed to have originated from HRH Udogri and Chief Askia, accuses some community members of acts capable of threatening public peace.

In a related development, a certified court document from the Magistrate Court in Oleh, dated February 7, 2025, revealed ongoing legal proceedings involving some Uzere stakeholders. The case, filed by Christian Orukru against the Delta State Government and others, sought interim injunctions restraining certain traditional and community leaders from alleged acts of interference.
The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate O.M. Onomeh, ordered all parties to maintain peace pending the determination of the substantive motion.
The recent police invitation appears to be a direct outcome of these prolonged disputes, which have polarized factions within the oil-rich community.
As of press time, neither HRH Udogri, Askia nor the accused leaders had publicly commented on the latest development. However, local observers fear the situation could further strain community relations if not carefully handled by both security agencies and the Delta State Government.
