A 300-level student of the University of Calabar, Cross River State, Ms Gift Odama, has emerged the grand winner of this year’s Treasure Jungle Africa Reality TV show, held in Mbiabong Ikot Udofia, Ini local government area of Akwa Ibom state.
Odama, 25 years old who is pursuing a degree in Guidance and Counselling, beat 30 other contestants to emerge the winner and was consequently crowned Empress Treasure Jungle 2022.
She went home with a car prize to mark her victory at the contest.
The Reality TV show, a yearly event is organised by the Treasure Jungle Africa, under the sponsorship of the Twin Legacy Enterprise, Goondee Box Investment, Juson Valley Enterprise, the NTA and 7 others The Trumpet gathered.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the presentation, Ms Odama said it was a dream come true, but the credited her success to God who saw her through.
She called on Nigerian youths to believe in their abilities, adding that once one is confident in his ability, everything was achievable in life.

“I feel very happy, indeed I cannot express my happiness right now, it’s like a dream come true. But I thank God because without Him I wouldn’t have been here today.
“It wasn’t easy, but I want to tell Nigerian youths out there that whatever they want to do, they should believe in themselves first, if you believe in yourself that you can do it, every other thing that people will say is not important,” she said.
She said at the beginning some people tried to discourage her but she made up her mind and continued and won.
Also speaking a Nollywood actor, Emmanuel Ekarika, described the TV show as real and called on Nigeria youths to stop being complacent but to think of what they could do to help themselves
“We have seen the second runner up going home with 1000 dollars, the first runner up with 2000 dollars and the overall winner with prize cash and a car. So, I want to encourage our youths to stop looking for what government can do for them and come to competition like this to develop their talents” he said.
The director of the Treasure Jungle Reality show, Mr Iniobong Udoh, said it was a very challenging experience being in season one of the competition but expressed happiness that it ended well.
