The House of Representatives Member for Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has charged leaders of the Owhe Clan to remain united in the pursuit of peace and development, insisting that collective effort is the foundation of progress.
Ukodhiko gave the charge during a strategic meeting with President Generals and political leaders from the clan, where issues of unity, security, and infrastructural growth dominated discussions. He urged the leaders to take the message of peace back to their communities, stressing that collaboration is the surest path to sustainable development.
In a major boost to the clan, the lawmaker also flagged off the long-awaited upgrade of Owhe’s electricity infrastructure from 11kVA to 33kVA, a project captured in the 2025 Appropriation Act. He confirmed that the contract, worth between ₦350 million and ₦435 million, had been approved by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) with contractors already mobilised to site, beginning from Otor-Igho.

“The upgrade will stabilise voltage, expand electricity supply, and drive socio-economic activities across all Owhe communities,” Ukodhiko said. Although only ₦200 million was appropriated in the national budget, he assured that the project would be completed on schedule through his personal commitment and with the backing of Isoko North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba.
Ukodhiko described the electricity upgrade as part of his contribution to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, designed to accelerate grassroots development in Delta State. He commended the council chairman and prominent leaders including Chief John Araka, Dr. Patrick Akporunno, Engr. Blessing Ugoh, Hon. Daniel Tutumor Daniel, Mr. Richard Isagba, Engr. Prosper Erah, Engr. Festus Akponovo, Engr. Peter Odunwa, Dame Mrs. Mimi Igbrude, and the various Owhe Clan President Generals for their active role in the engagement.
With the project now underway, residents of Owhe Clan anticipate a new era of improved electricity supply and economic revival that could transform communities across the Isoko region.
