Troops of ‘Operation FANSAN YAMMA’ have neutralised nine terrorists, including two suspected kingpins, during coordinated military operations in Katsina State and Zamfara State.
According to a statement by the acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 8 Division, Olaniyi Osoba, the operations led to the recovery of four AK-47 rifles and nine motorcycles, alongside other items.
In Katsina State, troops of the Forward Operating Base Fudma engaged terrorists and neutralised four of them. Recovered items included two AK-47 rifles with magazines, ammunition, two motorcycles, seven mobile phones, and ₦153,000 in cash.
In a separate operation in Zamfara State between May 2 and 3, troops stationed at Forward Operating Base Bagega carried out a major offensive in Anka Local Government Area.

The mission resulted in the killing of seven terrorists, including two identified kingpins, Anaruwa and Gomina.
The military said the operation intensified after reinforcements and air support were deployed.
Troops repelled an additional wave of eight terrorists who attacked on motorcycles, killing three more and recovering weapons and seven motorcycles.
A follow-up operation on May 3 saw troops engage and neutralise two more terrorists on motorbikes in the same area.
However, the Army confirmed that one soldier was killed during the operation.
The operations form part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian military to curb insurgency and banditry in the North-West region.
