The Minister of Transportation, Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, has said that the University of Transport Technology, Daura, Katsina State, would commence activities by September 2022.
Amaechi gave the assertion at the site of the University in Daura after inspecting the level of work and taking a tour of the project in company of his Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, the Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, and other management staffers of the ministry, The Trumpet gathered.
According to him, “They (the contractors) said it remains seven buildings and that they will be ready before September.

“I have asked the permanent secretary to invite them for a meeting so that this school can start functioning from September.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the university was done by President Muhammadu Buhari in December 2019, the project is being handled by China Civil Engineering Construction (CCECC).
The Minister also visited the Dala Inland Dry Port in Kano, he commended the contractors for the work done so far and urged them to ensure speedy completion of the project to enable Buhari to inaugurate it.
“If you say I’m not impressed that will be wrong. They promised me that they will complete the project by today.
“Have they completed the structures? Yes, but I didn’t see the landscaping, the landscape has not been completed. So, I said until they complete the landscaping, I will not be able to bring the president here.
“Once they complete the landscaping, we can then bring the president to come and inaugurate the project, but it appears they have finished the structures,” he affirmed.
