A member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Peter Ike has gunned down a 29-year-old student of Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic, Peter Eyorowalebo. He was brutally murdered in cold blood right inside the victim’s room while he was studying for his forthcoming examinations.
According to the Police First Information Report, the tragic incident took place on April 30 at approximately 9:30 a.m. A distress call alerted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku, who swiftly led a team to the crime scene. There, they found the student lying in a pool of his own blood. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited in the morgue for autopsy, while the suspect, Peter Ike, has been arrested and handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a comprehensive probe.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) to personally oversee the investigation, assuring the public that no stone will be left unturned in the pursuit of justice.
In an official statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, the CP extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and vowed that justice will be served without compromise.
