Tottenham Hotspur are in advanced discussions with Everton over the possible signing of Iliman Ndiaye, while Brazilian forward Richarlison could be heading back to Goodison Park in a separate transfer arrangement.
The proposed moves are among several interconnected Premier League deals being negotiated as clubs race to complete their business before the transfer deadline.
Spurs are understood to have made significant progress in talks with Everton for 26-year-old Ndiaye, although the player’s final destination remains uncertain, with Manchester City also monitoring his situation.
Manchester City have also reportedly explored a move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, who has been linked with Tottenham. However, any potential departure from Anfield could depend on Liverpool securing a suitable replacement.
Everton are willing to consider Ndiaye’s departure after the player turned down several offers of a new contract. The Senegal international also held discussions with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal earlier in the transfer window.
Meanwhile, Everton have reached an agreement in principle over the possible return of Richarlison, who has reportedly made clear his desire to leave Tottenham.
The Brazil international is in the final year of his Spurs contract and could return to the club he left for north London in 2022.
Richarlison’s potential arrival would provide additional competition for Everton’s attacking options, particularly with uncertainty surrounding the future of Beto. He could also challenge Thierno Barry for a regular place in the starting line-up.
Everton are also increasingly optimistic about securing the return of England international Jack Grealish from Manchester City on another loan deal.
Grealish, who spent last season with Everton, is said to favour a return to the Merseyside club despite interest from his former club Aston Villa. However, negotiations remain complicated because the midfielder has entered the final year of his contract at Manchester City.
The Toffees are also looking to strengthen their defence and are reportedly close to completing a £9 million deal for Fulham right-back Kenny Tete.
Fulham have already begun searching for a possible replacement and are understood to be in discussions with Rayo Vallecano over defender Andrei Ratiu.
Richarlison is one of three Tottenham players who have reportedly asked to leave the club, according to Spurs manager Roberto de Zerbi.
Defender Kevin Danso and midfielder Pape Matar Sarr are the other players said to have expressed their desire to move on.
None of the three players was included in Tottenham’s squad for Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United.
Speaking after the match, De Zerbi confirmed that Richarlison had repeatedly indicated his desire to leave, while Danso and Sarr had also informed him of their intentions.
The Spurs manager said the club would not stand in the way of players seeking exits, provided suitable financial arrangements were reached with interested clubs.
Tottenham have undergone a major squad rebuild this summer, spending more than £300 million in a bid to improve after consecutive 17th-place Premier League finishes.
Despite the heavy investment, Spurs have endured a poor start to the new campaign, losing their opening two league matches against Brentford and Newcastle without scoring.
Richarlison was Tottenham’s leading scorer last season with 11 goals and played an important role in helping the club avoid relegation.
Earlier this month, De Zerbi admitted that the Brazilian’s future was uncertain, while acknowledging the difficulty of replacing a striker of his quality.
Tottenham recently strengthened their attack by signing Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush on loan, with the Egyptian taking Richarlison’s place in the starting line-up against Newcastle.
Danso’s opportunities could also become increasingly limited following the arrivals of Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Micky van de Ven has further strengthened his position at the club after signing a new contract and being named captain.

Sunderland reportedly made an offer to take the Austrian international on a season-long loan, but Tottenham rejected the proposal.
Sarr, meanwhile, has faced increased competition in midfield following the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.
The 23-year-old Senegal international has attracted interest from several clubs, including teams in the Premier League and Turkish side Besiktas.
Juventus are also believed to be confident about securing Sarr on a loan deal that could include an obligation to make the move permanent if certain conditions are met.
With the transfer deadline approaching, Tottenham and Everton could yet play key roles in a series of major late-window moves across the Premier League.
