Track sensation and world record holder Tobi Amusan, has called out the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for the poor treatment of athletes in the country.
She highlighted a troubling issue: while athletes from other nations receive proper gear and support, Nigerian athletes often receive only clothes packed in cheap nylon bags.
Amusan expressed frustration over the limited supplies they receive, bjust two uniforms and three tracksuits, making it hard for them to compete effectively.
Supporters have rallied around her, with one sports enthusiast pointing out that her success stems from her natural talent and hard work, and urged the federation to show more respect and support for its athletes, suggesting they deserve better than low-quality gear from cheap sources.
Another person criticized how some individuals respond to athletes’ complaints, accusing them of trying to undermine the athletes instead of addressing their concerns.
