In an effort to improve transparency and engage stakeholders, the board of trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has announced a national town hall meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Abuja.
The meeting will be chaired by TETFund’s board Chairman, Aminu Masari, and will take place at the A-Class Park and Event Centre in Wuse II, Abuja.
According to Dr. Mansur Liman, the special assistant to the chairman, the purpose of the meeting is to promote open communication between TETFund and key stakeholders in education, while also showcasing the fund’s achievements and its impact on Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
Masari emphasized that the initiative reflects TETFund’s commitment to accountability and public involvement.
“This town hall meeting will provide a vital opportunity to connect TETFund with the Nigerian public, ensuring that our mission and initiatives are clearly understood and valued across the country,” he stated.
The event will include two keynote addresses from prominent education figures.

Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), will present on “TETFund in the eyes of the public,” while Prof. Umaru Pate, Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State, will discuss “Tertiary education in Nigeria and the relevance of TETFund.”
Participants expected at the meeting include policymakers, academics, civil society members, students, and the general public.
The interactive sessions will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with TETFund leadership and offer suggestions for enhancing the fund’s operations and initiatives.
“The town hall meeting is part of TETFund’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and stakeholder engagement.
“It aims to clarify TETFund’s mission to Nigerians, highlight its accomplishments and influence on tertiary education since its inception, and facilitate dialogue between TETFund, stakeholders, and the public,” the statement noted.
This meeting is part of TETFund’s broader strategy to improve transparency and inclusivity in managing resources that support infrastructure development, research, and innovation across Nigeria’s higher education institutions.
The statement encouraged all education stakeholders and interested members of the public to attend the town hall meeting.
