Actor Taye Arimoro has initiated legal action against fellow actress Peggy Ovire, requesting a public apology and N100 million in damages for an alleged assault that occurred on a movie set.

The incident reportedly took place on November 11, when Arimoro attempted to leave after completing his scenes.

He claims that Ovire obstructed his vehicle and insisted he film two more scenes.

According to Arimoro, the situation escalated, leading to him being allegedly detained and assaulted by Ovire and her team.

In response, Ovire has refuted his claims, stating that Arimoro was the one who became aggressive first and allegedly attacked her production manager.

In a formal letter from his lawyers, which Arimoro posted on Instagram, he accused Ovire of violating his rights to dignity, personal freedom, and movement.

The letter described her alleged actions as “unlawful, inhuman, and degrading,” and mentioned that the incident caused him emotional distress, psychological trauma, and financial losses.

Arimoro’s legal representatives have set two demands to be fulfilled within seven days: a public video apology shared on all her social media accounts, including a permanent post on her verified Instagram, and the payment of N100 million in damages.

The letter cautioned that if these demands are not met, Arimoro will take legal action to safeguard his rights.

As of now, Ovire has not publicly responded to these requests.
