The Taraba State chapter of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) has begun an industrial strike effective midnight on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

The action was announced in a notice dated November 14 and circulated to all employees of the Taraba State House of Assembly.

The memo also referenced an earlier communication, tagged PASAN/NS/ADM/01, issued on November 13.

In a statement jointly signed by the chapter Chairman, Hamidu Buba, and Secretary, Timothy Enganya, respectively, the union said its members at the state House of Assembly would withdraw their services due to unresolved grievances with the state government.

PASAN listed two major demands driving the strike: the non-implementation of financial autonomy for the legislative arm and the failure to implement the Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS).

The union has directed all assembly workers to remain at home until further notice from its leadership.

Despite initiating the industrial action, PASAN reiterated its willingness to enter negotiations with the state government.

The association also called on members to remain united and uphold democratic principles as discussions continue.
