The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 15 suspects allegedly engaging in internet fraud in Abuja.
The commission disclosed this in a statement on its official handle on X (formally Twitter) on February 18, 2025.
The anti-corruption agency, said the operation that led to the arrest of the suspects, took place at the Amax Apartment in the Guzape District of Abuja, following credible intelligence that connected the suspects to various fraudulent online activities.
In addition to the arrests, the EFCC said its agents seized a Toyota Highlander with a customized license plate, along with several mobile phones.

The suspected internet fraudsters, the agency added, are currently cooperating with ongoing investigation, and will face charges in court once the inquiry is completed.
“Operatives of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested 15 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
“They have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. The EFCC remains committed to tackling internet fraud and ensuring accountability,” the statement said.
