Speed Darlington flees after NAPTIP declares him wanted for cyberbullying, rape
Controversial Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has reportedly fled Nigeria in the wake of his being declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).

The action by NAPTIP is sequel to allegations of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and rape leveled against him.

The controversy surrounding Speed Darlington intensified after the release of a shocking video on Instagram, in which he recounted a sexual encounter involving a 15-year-old girl.

In the now-infamous video clip, he casually admitted to bribing a hotel staff member with ₦2,000 to clean bloodstained bedsheets after allegedly engaging with the underage girl.

His flippant remark that “before he could come change the sheet for me, I had to dash him ₦2,000 because… I told him to come and wash the blood that came out of the 15-year-old girl,” provoked widespread outrage and condemnation across social media.

Attempting to mitigate the backlash, Speed Darlington issued a follow-up post in which he denied any sexual acts with the minor, declaring his innocence on June 2.

Despite his efforts to clarify his remarks, public sentiment remained overwhelmingly against him, with calls for accountability and justice gaining traction.
