Senator Joel-Onowakpo’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to strengthen legislative oversight on local content compliance, especially in sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing, and technology, where foreign dominance often limits opportunities for Nigerian enterprises.
“As I embrace this opportunity to serve the Senate, our great nation, and humanity at large, I do so with humility and determination. Together, we shall achieve remarkable progress,” he added.
The appointment has been widely commended, with political stakeholders and constituents expressing optimism that his leadership will further enhance Nigeria’s commitment to local content development.
