In the aftermath of a heated clash between military and police forces on Tuesday night at Target Junction in Yola North Local Government Area, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State swiftly convened an emergency security meeting to address the escalating tension.
The conflict, which saw an exchange of gunfire and a brutal attack on a police facility, prompted the governor to intervene to restore peace.
Speaking to the press at the Government House in Yola, yesterday, Governor Fintiri disclosed that an ongoing investigation was being conducted to ensure justice and tranquillity.

After the emergency meeting, Governor Fintiri announced that a resolution had been reached, emphasizing the commitment of security chiefs to collaborate in the best interest of Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole.
Confirming the unfortunate loss of one officer from both the military and police during the clash, Fintiri urged restraint to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
The meeting, which was attended by Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the Brigade Commander of 23 Armoured Brigade Yola, and the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, along with other senior government officials, focused on strategies to prevent future conflicts and ensure the safety of citizens.
