Rivers United have extended the lead on the 2021-2022 table of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to five points over title rival, Plateau United.
Plateau United fell yesterday in the Enyimba Stadium to a 2-0 defeat to Abia Warriors which paved the way for the Pride of Rivers to capitalise on the slip to record a hard-fought victory in Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt.
A second-half goal from Enyinnaya Kazie in the 77th minute was enough to secure a three-point victory over fourth-placed Remo Stars while Plateau had conceded two goals from Innocent Gabriel and Imeh Atobasi, Abia Warriors’ players.
