Rangers International FC recorded their ninth win in their preseason matches after they saw off resilient Golden United Academy in a 2-nil win at the club’s training pitch in Enugu.
The goals prodded in either half by midfielder, Julius Ikechukwu, ensured Rangers International F.C humbled Golden United Academy in the last group A match of the 4th edition of Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament.
Ikechukwu opened the scoresheet in 26 minutes to give the Flying Antelopes the lead after the Academy side’ shot stopper failed to handle a well-struck corner kick by Samuel Pam.
The midfielder, who was a former player of former Gateway F.C, got his second in the 58th minute from an assist by Michael Ibe.
There were chances for the likes of Chukwudi Nwaodu, Reuben Bala and John Jacob to further punish the Academy side as the game approached its end but were denied by splendid goalkeeping.

According to the club’s media officer, Norbert Okolie, the Rangers International tactician, Abdul Maikaba will continue to build on the positives ahead of the friendly with Premier League side, Abia Warriors, on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Okigwe Township Stadium.
