Victor Osimhen said he was not intimidated in the clash with Black Stars of Ghana in Kumasi having played in major stadiums like the prominent San Siro of AC Milan.
Osimhen, who was the point man for the Super Eagles in the FIFA World Cup first leg playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana in Kumasi disclosed that the Ghanian central defenders were hard on him, the trumpet gathered.
During a media chat, the Napoli Striker praised the Super Eagles for their display on the pitch amid all odds and antics by the Ghanaians to secure a-goal advantage The Trumpet gathered.
However, Osimhen brushed aside criticism by Super Eagles’ fans for not recording any shot on target against the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
According to him, the two Ghanaian central defenders, Daniel Amartey and Alexander Djiku were instructed intermittently by the Black Stars assistant coach to go hard on him.
Osimhen stressed that despite both players carrying out the routine check to curtail him in the match, he avowed that he possesses deadly techniques that get the job done.
He said: “I wasn’t intimidated, I’ve played in San Siro where it was all sold out and I know the kind of pressure it is but kudos to the team, chief coach, and backroom staff for motivating us.

“Mostly the assistant coach will come up from the bench and say, ‘go hard on him’, Amartey and the other defender Djiku.
“They were trying to do the assignment very well but they don’t know we have some kind of deadly technique that can actually get the job done for us. We are really happy with our performance.
“They were trying to tame me, I am not the kind of player that makes simulations but when I’m hit for sure I will go down, it’s part of the game, but when the referee doesn’t call for a foul it’s normal to react.
“I don’t care what people are saying about me falling down. The game was really a massive one, the whole Ghanaian fans came out for their team but we were pushed to get something out of the game,” he added.
The Black Stars are expected to arrive in Abuja, today, for the decisive 2022 FIFA World Cup second-leg playoff with the Super Eagles on Tuesday, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
