The Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church Worldwide, Dr. David Bob-Manuel, has urged Nigerian politicians to rise to the occasion and urgently address the economic challenges facing the country.
Speaking during a church programme, Dr. Bob-Manuel lamented the growing hardship occasioned by the nation’s economic downturn, stressing that leaders must prioritize policies and actions that directly impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
He noted that many citizens are struggling under the weight of high inflation, unemployment, and a weakened purchasing power, insisting that those in political office cannot afford to be indifferent to the plight of the people.
“As leaders, politicians must preoccupy themselves with the task of making life more meaningful for the downtrodden,” the cleric said.
“The economic crunch is biting hard across all strata of society, and this is the time for politicians to rise to their responsibilities by providing practical solutions to ease the sufferings of the people.”

Dr. Bob-Manuel further warned that leadership must not be reduced to mere political power struggles, but should be seen as a sacred responsibility to serve.
He said the credibility of political leaders will be judged not by the positions they occupy but by the tangible impact they make in the lives of citizens.
He therefore called on government at all levels to take decisive steps in stabilizing the economy, boosting food security, creating jobs, and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
“The people are yearning for hope and relief. Our leaders must not fail them,” he added.
