Olohundare Moshood Jimoh has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police for the Lagos State Command.
The Police Service Commission approved the appointment in a statement on Monday.
Jimoh replaces Ishola Olawale, who assumed duty in September 2024 as the 40th commissioner of police in Lagos. The commission also approved Olawale’s redeployment to an undisclosed post.
A statement by the commission’s Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, confirmed Jimoh’s appointment following his appearance before the commission on Monday.

The meeting was attended by the commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), Justice Adamu Galmuje (rtd), and DIG Taiwo Lakanu, among others. However, the statement did not specify whether the appointment takes immediate effect.
Before his new role, Jimoh served as the commissioner of police for the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports. A native of Kwara State, he has held several key positions, including that of the Force Public Relations Officer, deputy commissioner of airport police, deputy commissioner of finance and administration, and deputy commissioner of general investigation.
Jimoh has undergone professional training in security operations, both locally and internationally.
