Police officers of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have rescued former Big Brother Naija winner, Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel, following an alleged physical assault by her father, Emmanuel Odiniya, at their residence in Abuja.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Friday, at the Royal Anchor Estate in the Wuye District of Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the command received a distress call at about 12:00 a.m. on May 9, 2026, alleging that Ilebaye was being physically assaulted by her father inside the residence.
The police said a patrol team from the Wuye Division, supported by police officers from the command were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Adeh added that she personally monitored the operation.
The statement noted that upon arrival, officers discovered that the gate to the residence was locked, delaying access to the compound.

“After several attempts, access was gained into the compound at about 2:30 a.m. Ms. Ilebaye Odiniya, who was found with visible bruises, was rescued alongside her brothers and rushed to the NNPC Hospital, Abuja, where she received medical attention,” the statement read.
The police further confirmed that Odiniya has been taken into custody, while investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault.
The police did not disclose the cause of the altercation or whether formal charges had been filed as of the time of reporting.
