Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have intensified a crackdown on illicit drug networks and cult-related activities, arresting a suspected drug baron and a teenage cultist in separate operations across the state.
The command, led by Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, said the latest arrests underscore its renewed push toward proactive policing aimed at dismantling criminal networks.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, officers attached to the DOPS Buffalo Patrol Team, working alongside members of the Achalla Ibusa Vigilante, carried out a sting operation on March 17, 2026, targeting a notorious drug hideout in Asaba.
The operation led to the arrest of a suspected drug kingpin identified by her alias, “Madam Do Good,” at the Power Line axis of Asaba. Police operatives reportedly recovered a cache of illicit substances, including Ice, Colorado, Canadian Loud, and other drugs suspected to be Indian hemp and tramadol.
At least seven suspects were apprehended during the raid, including Faith Uyaterimo, Peter Nnamani, Paul Nnamani, and Abuchi Miracle. Authorities confirmed that both the suspects and recovered exhibits remain in custody as investigations continue.

In a separate operation on March 19, 2026, police in Warri arrested an 18-year-old suspect, Ovie Ejeh, over alleged involvement in cultism and unlawful possession of firearms.
According to the police, the suspect was apprehended around Wangwe College following credible intelligence about his suspicious movements. A search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally fabricated, cut-to-size single-barrel gun loaded with two live cartridges.
Police said the suspect confessed to being a member of a cult group during interrogation and is currently in custody pending further investigation.
Reaffirming the command’s stance, CP Adesola had earlier directed Divisional Police Officers and tactical units to adopt proactive policing strategies, warning that drug traffickers and other criminal elements would be tracked down and prosecuted.
“The era of reactive policing is over. Criminals will be fished out from wherever they are hiding and made to face the full wrath of the law,” the police boss was quoted as saying.
