The Bauchi state command of the Nigerian Police Force said it has neutralised suspected bandits and kidnappers terrorising Gombe, Taraba and Plateau states.
Making this known yesterday in a press statement, the command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said the police have successfully neutralised twelve suspected bandits said to have been terrorising Alkaleri local government council of Bauchi and the aforementioned states.
Among those killed neutralised by the command, is the kidnappers’ kingpin whose name was given as Madaki Mansur.
Part of the statement reads “On the 19th December 2022 at about 0230 hrs a Joint Operation of security operatives engaged suspected bandits/kidnappers in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Madam in Alkaleri forest.”

“After a hot exchange of superior fire-power by the operatives, twelve of the kidnappers were neutralised while others were subdued, dislodged, and scampered in disarray into the nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds and abandoned their Camp.”
The police also confirmed recovering different forms of weapons and operational motorcycles during the operation.
The command promised that they will leave no stone unturned in their efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate.”
Residents of Bauchi, especially those in Alkaleri council, and the aforementioned surrounding states, have in recent times been living in fear following the activities of bandits and kidnappers.
Since their neutralisation, The Trumpet gathered that the residents now go about their normal businesses without fears of being kidnapped.
