Police in Delta State have arrested three suspected armed robbers and cultists in Warri.
The suspects are Chukwuma Owoh, Ediri Ogendengbe, and Alfred Kess. They were arrested by operatives of the Quick Response Squad (QRS).
Spokesperson for the State’s Command, DSP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement forwarded to The Trumpet on Wednesday.
According to him, the police operatives were on stop and search duty along Pessu corner in Warri when they intercepted a tricycle with the suspects.
It was gathered that the suspects were on their way to attack some members of a rival cult group when they ran into the police officers.

Edafe said, “On 05/08/2022 at about 1345HRS, Police operatives attached to Quick response squad (QRS) during a stop and search duty along Pessu corner in Warri, intercepted a tricycle with three occupants and upon search of the occupants, one locally made cut-to-size gun and four live Cartridges were recovered from them.
“The three suspects namely; Chukwuma Owoh ‘m’ aged 26years, Ediri Ogendengbe ‘m’ aged 32yrs, and Alfred Kess ‘m’ age 38yrs were immediately arrested by the Policemen.”
“One of the Suspects, Chukwuma Owoh confessed that he bought the gun from one Haruna of hausa market Warri, and that he was on his way to Pessu in search of some Aiye confraternity cult members that attacked
his younger sister.”
Edafe said the suspects are currently in custody, adding that investigation is currently ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, has urged operatives in the State to sustain the crackdown on criminal elements.
CP Ali also admonished officers to be polite and civil to members of the public when on duty, while warning that incivility to members of the public will not be tolerated under his watch.
