A 28-year-old man abducted by suspected kidnappers has been rescued unharmed following a coordinated operation by the Adamawa State Police Command and local professional hunters in Gombi Local Government Area.
The operation, which took place on Monday, August 25, was based on credible intelligence about a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in the mountainous terrain of Gombi.
A statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, said a team of police officers from the Gombi Division, alongside professional hunters, stormed the location of the kidnappers.
Upon arrival, the team came under heavy fire from the suspects, prompting a gun duel.
Outmatched by the firepower of the security forces, the kidnappers fled, abandoning their captive, Isah Adamu, a resident of Gurin in Fufore Local Government Area, who was rescued without any injuries.

Reacting to the successful rescue, the state Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, commended the bravery and swift action of the police officers and the hunters involved in the rescue operation.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating kidnapping and other crimes across the state.
The police commissioner directed the command’s anti-kidnapping unit to take over the case and intensify efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.
