In a joint operation between Adamawa State Police operatives and local Hunters, five individuals allegedly involved in a string of armed robbery and kidnapping incidents were confirmed to have been apprehended.
The arrest, according to a press statement made available to journalists in the state by the Command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, came following prompt action by law enforcement after receiving distress calls reporting armed individuals obstructing the road between Numan and Jalingo, connecting Adamawa and Taraba States, with the intent of robbery.
Of the seven suspects involved, five, according to the statement, were successfully arrested and detained.
The suspects, as identified by the command, are Adamu Usman, aged 25, Sule Abba, aged 20, Abdullahi Muhammed, aged 20, Aliyu Abubakar, aged 26 and Isah Musa, aged 25.
All suspects were said to have been identified as residents of Kedemure and Barikin Sajo in the Demsa and Song local government council of the state.

According to reports, on the night of May 9, 2024, the suspects armed themselves and barricaded the Numan/Jalingo Road, robbing commuters and abducting three passengers into a nearby forest.
Responding swiftly, the police pursuit team, with the assistance of Hunters, chased down the kidnappers, resulting in the arrest of the suspects, the retrieval of weapons, and the successful rescue of the kidnapped victims.
Commending the gallant efforts of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Demsa, his team, and the Hunters, the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, directed that the suspects be transferred to the Crack Squad Unit for thorough investigation and prosecution.
